Rt 28 Traffic Cameras

These cameras depict the traffic flow along PA Route 28 from it’s primary sources — the Veteran’s Bridge (I–579) and the North Shore Expressway (I–279) — to Etna. The information has limited utility unless you are traveling along the north shore of the Allegheny River between downtown Pittsburgh and its northeastern suburbs.

Notes on Stream Loss

All camera feeds are from PennDOT. Feeds currently receiving errors from the PennDOT servers are indicated by “Stream Loss” frames. These problems are usually due to transient network issues and may often be resolved by refreshing the image display. PennDOT provides it's own “Temporarily Unavailable” frame if the camera outage is of longer duration.

Notes on Camera Orientation

These cameras do not have a uniform orientation (some look inbound, others look outbound, some change orientation from time to time). The table Traffic Camera Attributes describes the camera orientation and any other noteworthy attributes of each feed.

1 These streets do not actually intersect SR 28. PennDOT appears to use the point where their fictitious extensions would cross Route 28 as a location reference.
